- About Dr. Joe
Dr. Joe started his passion for dental implants in 2002 when he was a second-year dental student at Temple University.
Dr. M. Joe Mehranfar is a distinguished dental implantologist with over 17 years of experience, having placed over 20,000 dental implants and completed over 2,500 All-on-4® treatments. His expertise in full-arch dental implant treatments and digital workflows has established him as a leader in the field.
Dr. Mehranfar earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after completing master’s degrees in Microbiology and Environmental Science at Southern Illinois University.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Implantology/Implant Dentistry, reflecting his commitment to excellence in implant dentistry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mehranfar has held several notable positions, including the Director of Dental Implant Education at the Brighterway Clinic in Phoenix, where he mentored residents from the Lutheran Medical Center of New York and provided hands-on surgical training to clinicians nationwide.
He is also the Clinical Director at Dental Hearts, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable dental implant care to veterans and underserved populations in Arizona.
As a co-founder of the Implant Education Company, Dr. Mehranfar trains U.S.-licensed dentists in live implant surgery, emphasizing the importance of digital workflows for achieving optimal patient outcomes. Dr. Joe has lectured on the All-on-4® dental implant treatment in Dubai, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the United States.
His dedication to advancing digital dentistry is evident through his lectures and hands-on courses, where he shares insights on integrating technologies such as CBCT imaging, intraoral scanning, and 3D printing into implant procedures.
Dr. Mehranfar’s contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice and education. He has served as Chairperson-Elect of the implant division of the American Dental Education Association and has been recognized with the Pierre Fauchard Award for excellence.

Before dental school, Dr. Joe attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he received a B.S in biology and a minor in chemistry. He also received a master’s degree in microbiology and in environmental science. Dr. Joe was also on the college tennis team where he played doubles and qualified for the NCAA tournament.
Dr. Joe was the director of dental implant education at the Brighterway Clinic in Phoenix, where he mentored residents from the Lutheran Medical Center of New York and instructed the live implant training where clinicians from throughout the United States can obtain hands-on surgical training. Today, Dr. Joe is Clinical Director at Dental Hearts which specializes in helping the over 400,000 veterans in Arizona and those that have trouble affording conventional dental implant fees. Also, he is Clinical Director at Implant Education Company which trains U.S licensed dentists on live implant surgery.
Dr. Joe has placed over 10,000 implants and mentored hundreds of U.S licensed dentists on dental implant surgery. He enjoys helping patients regain function, get their smiles back, and being able to chew the foods they love.
Dr. Joe lives in Scottsdale with his wife Lauren and three children Liam, Elliot, and Portia. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing pickle ball.
