What I Wish I Knew Before Getting Dental Implants

Aria Dental Implant Center Blog
Doctor With Patient At Aria Dental Implant Center

Thinking about dental implants? Here is the plain-spoken guide I share with friends and family before they start. It covers the real timeline, comfort, costs, and how to set yourself up for a great result at Aria Dental Implant Center in Phoenix.

1) You will have a plan on day one

Your first visit should not be a sales pitch. At Aria, we start with a complimentary 3D CT scan and consultation, then walk you through options, pros and cons, and timing. You will tour our in-house lab so you can see how your teeth are made.

2) Healing is a phase, not a weekend

After surgery there is swelling, a soft-food diet, and several bite checks. Many full-arch patients leave with a fixed healing bridge within 24 hours, then we fine-tune as you heal before the final teeth.

3) Experience matters more than ads

Dental implants are technique-sensitive. Dr. Joe Mehranfar has treated 2,500+ full-arch cases and 1,500+ All-on-4® arches, and teaches other dentists on digital implant workflows. That kind of volume improves planning, fit, and bite balance.

4) The lab can make or break the fit

Most centers ship lab work out. We keep it in house with a seven-person digital lab using photogrammetry, facial scanning, 3D printing, and milling. Faster adjustments, fewer surprises.

5) Price ranges are real, but transparency helps

Know your numbers up front. We are upfront with prices so you do not waste time or get a shock later.

6) Insurance rarely pays much for implants

Many plans offer little or no implant coverage. Our practice is fee-for-service, and we work with Proceed Finance, Cherry, CareCredit, and Affirm to spread out payments.

7) Cleaning is different than natural teeth

Implants do not get cavities, but the gums around them can get inflamed. Plan on daily water-flossing and special brushes under the bridge, plus regular cleanings. We teach you the routine at post-ops.

8) Not everyone needs or gets 14 teeth per arch

Most All-on-4® designs replace first molar to first molar for strength and speech, then we tailor from there. We explain why your case may use 10, 12, or 14 teeth so function stays high and stress stays low.

9) Choose a team that teaches and shows the work

You should see photos, models, and the workflow. We train dentists from around the country and give every new patient a guided tour of our clinic, lab, and training center. That openness builds trust.

10) Look for third-party recognition

We are a Nobel Biocare All-on-4® Center of Excellence, which reflects training, systems, and outcomes dedicated to full-arch care.

11) Expect clear communication, not pressure

Patients tell us they felt respected, got straight answers, and left knowing the pros and cons before deciding. That is how every implant visit should feel.

12) Bring your real life to the consult

Tell us about your job, diet, and health. We see everyone from busy business owners to grandparents in dentures to people rebuilding life after addiction. Your plan should fit your story, not the other way around. We have team members who speak English, Spanish, Arabic, and Farsi if that helps you share more clearly.
